DESCRIPTION:
John Leitch has discovered a vulnerability in the Download Manager
module for CMS Made Simple, which can be exploited by malicious
people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to the
modules/DownloadManager/lib/simple-upload/example.php script allowing
the upload of files with arbitrary extensions to a folder inside the
webroot. This can be exploited to upload arbitrary files inside the
webroot and e.g. execute arbitrary PHP code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.4.1. Other versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Restrict access to the
"modules/DownloadManager/lib/simple-upload/example.php" script (e.g.
via .htaccess)
