DESCRIPTION:
Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in DotNetNuke, which can
be exploited by malicious users to disclose potentially sensitive
information and by malicious people to disclose potentially sensitive
information and conduct cross-site scripting and cross-site request
forgery attacks.
1) The user messaging module improperly generates the destination of
a message store, which may allow reading another user's email.
2) An error when displaying user profiles can be exploited to
disclose member-only properties, but requires that some property is
not set to member-only or admin.
These vulnerabilities are reported in versions 5.3.0 through 5.4.2.
3) The install and upgrade process stores certain information in a
log file when an error occurs. This can be exploited to disclose
potentially sensitive information by requesting the log file
directly.
4) Input containing an invalid HTML tag is not properly sanitised
before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute
arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context
of an affected site.
5) The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP
requests without performing any validity checks to verify the
requests. This can be exploited to e.g. manipulate certain
unspecified data if a logged-in user visits a malicious web site.
These vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 5.4.3.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 5.4.3.
