DESCRIPTION:
Two vulnerabilities have been reported in AgentX++, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
1) A boundary error in the "AgentX::receive_agentx()" function can be
exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially
crafted network packet.
2) An integer overflow error in the "AgentX::receive_agentx()"
function can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a
specially crafted network packet.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities may allow execution of
arbitrary code.
The vulnerabilities are reported in version 1.4.16. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Restrict network access to trusted users only.
