TITLE:
Discuz! "Referer" Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA39104
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/39104/
DESCRIPTION:
Liscker has discovered a vulnerability in Discuz!, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting
attacks.
Input passed via the "Referer" HTTP header to register.php and
logging.php (when "action" is set to "login") is not properly
sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.
The vulnerability is confirmed in versions 7.2 and 6.1.0. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
