DESCRIPTION:
pyrokinesis has discovered a vulnerability in PeaZIP, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to insufficient sanitation while
processing the names of archived files. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary commands by tricking a user into opening a file
having a name with shell metacharacters contained in e.g. a ZIP
archive.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 2.6.1 for Windows. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Do not process untrusted archives.
