TITLE:
Unclassified NewsBoard Multiple Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA35299

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/35299/

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Unclassified NewsBoard,
which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose potentially
sensitive information, manipulate certain data, and conduct SQL
injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "Query" parameter in forum.php is not properly
sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to
manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

2) Input passed to the "GLOBALS[filename]" parameter in forum.php is
not properly verified before being used to display files. This can be
exploited to e.g. display or create certain files via directory
traversal attacks.

3) Input passed to the "GLOBALS[UTE][__tplCollection][a][file]"
parameter in forum.php is not properly verified before being used to
include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from
local resources via directory traversal attacks.

Successful exploitation of vulnerabilities #2 and #3 requires that
"register_globals" is enabled.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.6.4. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and
verified.
