Nine:Situations:Group::strawdog has discovered some vulnerabilities
in hMailServer PHPWebAdmin, which can be exploited by malicious
people to disclose potentially sensitive information and compromise a
vulnerable system.
1) Input passed to the "page" parameter in index.php is not properly
verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to
include arbitrary files from local resources.
2) Input passed to the "hmail_config[includepath]" parameter in
initialize.php is not properly verified before being used to include
files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local or
remote resources.
Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in PHPWebAdmin included in
hMailServer version 4.4.2 B283. Other versions may also be affected.
