DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been discovered in RealVNC VNC Viewer, which can
potentially be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's
system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the
"CMsgReader::readRect()" function in common/rfb/CMsgReader.cxx when
processing encoding types, which can be exploited by sending
specially crafted messages to the application.
Successful exploitation may allow the execution of arbitrary code,
but requires that the user connects to a malicious server.
The vulnerability is confirmed in RealVNC Free Edition version 4.1.2.
Prior versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.1.3.
