DESCRIPTION:
Fedora has issued an update for initscripts. This fixes a security
issue, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to perform
certain actions with escalated privileges.
The security issue is caused due to the /etc/rc.sysinit script
improperly removing all directories contained within the /var/lock
and /var/run directories at system start-up. This can be exploited to
remove arbitrary directories via symlink attacks.
SOLUTION:
Apply updated packages via the yum utility ("yum update
initscripts").
