TITLE:

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Security Bypass, Manipulation of data

WHERE:

SOFTWARE:
aliTalk 1.x

DESCRIPTION:
tomplixsee has discovered some vulnerabilities in aliTalk, which can
be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "mohit" parameter in inc/receivertwo.php is
not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be
exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

2) Input passed to the "id" parameter in inc/usercp.php is not
properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be
exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability allows e.g. changing
passwords for arbitrary users.

3) Input passed to the "username" parameter in admin/index.php is not
properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be
exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability allows e.g. logging in
as administrator without valid administrator credentials, but
requires knowledge of the administrator username.

4) Input passed to the "username" parameter in index.php is not
properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be
exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability allows e.g. logging in
without valid user credentials, but requires knowledge of the
username.

Successful exploitation of all vulnerabilities also require that
"magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.9.1.1. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.

Set "magic_quotes_gpc" in php.ini to On.
