DESCRIPTION:
r4x has reported a vulnerability in WFTPD Explorer, which potentially
can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when processing
server replies to the LIST command. This can be exploited to cause a
heap-based buffer overflow via an overly-long LIST server reply.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code but
requires that the user is tricked into connecting to a malicious FTP
server.
The vulnerability is reported in version 1.0. Other versions may also
be affected.
SOLUTION:
Do not connect to untrusted FTP servers.
