DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Yahoo! Messenger, which
potentially can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS
(Denial of Service) or compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error when
processing JPEG 2000 streams sent via the webcam stream. This can be
exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow when a user e.g. is
tricked into viewing a malicious webcam stream.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is reported in version 8.1.0.413. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Do not accept untrusted webcam invites.
