DESCRIPTION:
shinnai has discovered a vulnerability in Data Dynamics ActiveReports
ActiveX Control, which can be exploited by malicious people to
overwrite arbitrary files.
The vulnerability is caused due to the
DDActiveReports2.ActiveReport.2 ActiveX Control (arpro2.dll)
including the insecure "SaveLayout()" method, which writes to a file
specified as an argument. This can be exploited to overwrite and
corrupt arbitrary files on the system in the context of the currently
logged-on user.
The vulnerability is confirmed in ActiveReports 2.0 Professional
Edition Build 2.5.0.1308 (SP5 RC). Other versions may also be
affected.
SOLUTION:
Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
