TITLE:
freePBX Script Insertion and Command Execution Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:

VERIFY ADVISORY:

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting, System access

WHERE:
>From remote

SOFTWARE:
freePBX 2.x
http://secunia.com/product/12778/

DESCRIPTION:
XenoMuta has reported some vulnerabilities in freePBX, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks and
by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable system.

1) An input validation error exists in
admin/modules/logfiles/asterisk-full-log.php when displaying parts of
/var/log/asterisk/full. This can be exploited via specially crafted
SIP packets to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which is
executed in an administrative user's browser session in context of an
affected site when the malicious log entry is viewed.

2) Input passed to the "del" parameter in
admin/modules/music/page.music.php is not properly sanitised before
being used. This can be exploited to inject and execute arbitrary
commands via specially crafted requests.

Successful exploitation requires access to the admin section but can
potentially be exploited in combination with vulnerability #1.

The vulnerabilities are reported in version 2.2.1. Other versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
Grant only trusted users access to the application.
