DESCRIPTION:
Marsu has discovered a vulnerability in ACDSee products, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the
"ID_X.apl" plug-in when handling XPM files. This can be exploited to
cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially-crafted XPM file
with an overly long (greater than 4096 bytes) section string.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in ACDSee Pro 8.1 Build 99, ACDSee 9.0
Build 108, and ACDSee Photo Editor 4.0 Build 195. Other versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Do not open untrusted XPM files.
