DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in ArcSDE, which can be exploited
by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an unspecified error in ArcSDE
server when using three tiered ArcSDE configurations. This can be
exploited to crash the server by sending a specially crafted
connection packet to an ArcSDE service.
The vulnerability is reported in versions 8.3, 9.0, and 9.1.
SOLUTION:
The vendor has issued patches for various platforms (see vendor
advisories for details).
