Moderately critical

SOFTWARE:
FrontBase Relational Database Server 4.x
http://secunia.com/product/13698/

DESCRIPTION:
Kevin Finisterre has reported a vulnerability in FrontBase Relational
Database Server, which can be exploited by malicious users to
compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when processing
arguments passed to the "create procedure" SQL statement. This can be
exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via an overly long
string passed as argument to the affected SQL statement.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is reported in version 4.2.7. Other versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
The fix will reportedly be made available in the next general
release.
