TITLE:
LedgerSMB Multiple Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA24363

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/24363/

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Security Bypass, Manipulation of data, System access

WHERE:
>From remote

SOFTWARE:
LedgerSMB 1.x
http://secunia.com/product/11926/

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in LedgerSMB, which can
potentially be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain
security restrictions or to manipulate data, and by malicious users
to compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to the file parameter within the text editor is not
properly sanitised before being used to access files. This can be
exploited to access arbitrary files via specially crafted input that
results in a directory traversal sequence and may allow execution of
arbitrary code.

2) An unspecified error related to custom functions can potentially
be exploited to execute arbitrary code, to overwrite certain files in
a user's directory, or to bypass authentication.

Successful exploitation to execute arbitrary code with vulnerability
#1 and #2 requires a valid user account.

The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 1.1.5.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 1.1.5 or later.
