DESCRIPTION:
n00b has discovered a vulnerability in J. River Media Center, which
can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the Tivo
service (server_tivo.dll) and can be exploited to cause a buffer
overflow by sending an overly long string (more than 4093 bytes) to
the service (default port 8070/tcp).
Successful exploitation causes the security error handler to
terminate the application.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 11.0.173. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 11.1.191 or later.
