DESCRIPTION:
Avaya has acknowledged some vulnerabilities in tcpdump, which can be
exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerabilities affect the following products:
* Avaya S8710/S8700/S8500/S8300 (all versions)
* Avaya Converged Communications Systems (all versions)
* Avaya Intuity LX (versions 1.1 through 5.x)
* Avaya Modular Messaging (all versions)
* Avaya MN100 (all versions)

NOTE: According to the vendor, tcpdump is only included for debugging
purposes and only Avaya Service technicians have permissions to run
tcpdump.
SOLUTION:
The vendor is reportedly considering to include an update for a
future release.
Restrict the use of tcpdump to within trusted networks only.
