DESCRIPTION:
Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in IBM WebSphere
Application Server, which can be exploited by malicious users to
bypass certain security restrictions and by malicious people to
conduct cross-site scripting and cross-site request forgery attacks.
1) Certain unspecified input related to the administrative console
for virtual member manager (VMM) is not properly sanitised before
being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute
arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context
of an affected site.
2) An error exists when validating certain servlet requests and can
be exploited to bypass certain security restrictions.
3) Certain unspecified input related to the administrative console is
not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.
4) Certain unspecified input related to the administrative console is
not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.
5) The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP
requests without performing any validity checks to verify the
requests. This can be exploited to e.g. to obtain certain sensitive
information if a logged-in user visits a malicious web site.
The vulnerabilities are reported in versions 6.1.0 through 6.1.0.45
and 7.0 through 7.0.0.25.
SOLUTION:
Apply APARs or update to version 6.1.0.47 or 7.0.0.27 when available.
