DESCRIPTION:
Two vulnerabilities have been discovered in w-CMS, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and
script insertion attacks.
1) Input passed via the "p" parameter to index.php is not properly
sanitised in the "getMenus()" function in codes/wcms.php before being
returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML
and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site.
2) Input passed via the "COMMENT" parameter to index.php is not
properly sanitised before being used in codes/blog.php,
codes/guestbook.php, or codes/forum.php. This can be exploited to
insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a
user's browser session in context of an affected site when the
malicious data is being viewed.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.01. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
