DESCRIPTION:
High-Tech Bridge SA has discovered multiple vulnerabilities in N-13
News, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct
cross-site scripting attacks.
1) Input passed via the "id" and "pid" parameters to admin.php (when
"action" is set to "editcomments" and "edit" is set to "true") is not
properly sanitised in modules/editcomments.php before being returned
to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and
script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site.
2) Input passed via the "pid" parameter to admin.php (when "action"
is set to "editcomments" and "id" is set to a valid value) is not
properly sanitised in modules/editcomments.php before being returned
to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and
script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 4.0.2. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
