DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in FreeMarker, which can be
exploited by malicious users to disclose sensitive information.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input sanitisation error while
parsing template names, which can be exploited to load arbitrary
files from local resources via directory traversal attacks via path
names that contain a "\u0000" code point.
Successful exploitation requires permissions to upload templates and
that linking is allowed when FileTemplateLoader is used.
The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 2.3.17.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 2.3.17.
