DESCRIPTION:
Richard Brain has reported some vulnerabilities in BMC Remedy
Knowledge Management, which can be exploited by malicious people to
conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
1) Input passed via the "doc" parameter to external.jsp and
viewdoc.jsp and the "startDate" parameter to search.jsp is not
properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.
2) Input passed via the URL to usersettings.jsp and AttachmentServlet
is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can
be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in the context of an affected site.
The vulnerabilities are reported in version 7.5.00. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
