DESCRIPTION:
A security issue and a vulnerability has been reported in McAfee
Email Gateway, which can be exploited by malicious users to bypass
certain security restrictions and conduct script insertion attacks.
1) An error due to the application not properly verifying certain
administration settings in the Secure Web Delivery Client can be
exploited to create messages.
Note: This can further be exploited to exhaust disk space on the
appliance.
2) Certain input related to email attachment names in the Secure Web
Delivery Client is not properly sanitised before being used. This can
be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be
executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site
when the malicious data is being viewed in the draft messages
section.
The security issue and vulnerability is reported in version 7.0,
7.0.1, and 7.0.2.
SOLUTION:
