DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been discovered in Zmanda Recovery Manager for
MySQL, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain
escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error within
socket-server.pl. This can be exploited to manipulate the path to the
"mysqlhotcopy" script before it is being used in a call to "system()"
via a specially crafted packet sent to an affected system.
Successful exploitation allows executing arbitrary code with the
privileges of the MySQL user.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 2.1.1 (Community Edition).
Other version may also be affected.
