SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA36943
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/36943/
DESCRIPTION:
Parvez Anwar has discovered a vulnerability in FormMax, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when processing
FormMax import files (".aim"). This can be exploited to cause a
heap-based buffer overflow by tricking a user into importing a
specially crafted ".aim" file.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is confirmed in evaluation version 3.5. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Do not import untrusted ".aim" files.
