DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in MAXcms, which can be
exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information and
compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to multiple parameters in various files is not
properly verified before being used to include files. This can be
exploited to include arbitrary files from local or external
resources.

The following parameters and files are affected:

"is_projectPath" parameter:
includes/InstantSite/inc.is_root.php

"GLOBALS[thCMS_root]" parameter:
classes/class.Tree.php
includes/inc.thcms_admin_mediamanager.php
modul/mod.rssreader.php

"is_path" parameter:
classes/class.tasklist.php
classes/class.thcms.php
classes/class.thcms_content.php
classes/class.thcms_modul_parent.php
classes/class.thcms_page.php
classes/class.thcsm_user.php
includes/InstantSite/class.Tree.php

"thCMS_root" parameter:
classes/class.thcms_modul.php
includes/inc.page_edit_tasklist.php
includes/inc.thcms_admin_overview_backup.php
includes/inc.thcms_edit_content.php
modul/class.thcms_modul_parent_xml.php
modul/mod.cmstranslator.php
modul/mod.download.php
modul/mod.faq.php
modul/mod.guestbook.php
modul/mod.html.php
modul/mod.menu.php

modul/mod.sitemap.php
modul/mod.tagdoc.php
modul/mod.template.php
modul/mod.test.php
modul/mod.text.php
modul/mod.upload.php
modul/mod.users.php

2) Input passed to the "thCMS_root" parameter in
includes/inc.thcms_admin_dirtree.php is not properly verified before
being used to read files. This can be exploited to read arbitrary
files from local resources.

3) Input passed to the "fm_includes_special" parameter in
includes/file_manager/special.php is not properly verified before
being used to include files. This can be exploited to include
arbitrary files from local or external resources.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities may require that
"register_globals" is enabled.

The vulnerabilities are reported in version 3.11.20b. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 3.16.9, which fixes vulnerability #1.

Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.
