TITLE:
CAE LMS SQL Injection and Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA35429
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/35429/
DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in CAE LMS, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and SQL
injection attacks.
1) Input passed to the "id" parameter in news/index.php is not
properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be
exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
2) Input passed to the "courseid" parameter in enrolments/step1.php,
the "search" parameter in files/shared_list.php, and the "siteid"
parameter in files/shared_list.php is not properly sanitised before
being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute
arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context
of an affected site.
Reportedly, this only affects the "old and free LMS application
developed in PHP".
SOLUTION:
Reportedly fixed. Contact the vendor for additional information.
