TITLE:

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:

VERIFY ADVISORY:

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:

WHERE:

SOFTWARE:
Perlbal 1.x
http://secunia.com/product/18117/

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Perlbal, which can be
exploited by malicious people to disclose potentially sensitive
information or cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

1) An error exists within lib/Perlbal/ClientProxy.pm when handling
chunked uploads with a length of zero. This can be exploited to crash
the service by sending specially crafted requests.

Successful exploitation may require that "buffer_uploads" is
enabled.

2) Certain input is not properly sanitised within the
"_serve_request_multiple()" function in
lib/Perlbal/ClientHTTPBase.pm. This can be exploited to perform a
single upward directory traversal and disclose potentially sensitive
information by sending specially crafted requests to the service.

The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 1.70.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 1.70.
