kismet-2004-04-R1.tar.gz
Posted Apr 7, 2004
Authored by Mike Kershaw | Site kismetwireless.net

Kismet is an 802.11 layer 2 wireless network sniffer. It can sniff 802.11b, 802.11a, and 802.11g traffic. It is capable of sniffing using almost any wireless card supported in Linux, which currently divide into cards handled by libpcap and the Linux-Wireless extensions (such as Cisco Aironet), and cards supported by the Wlan-NG project which use the Prism/2 chipset (such as Linksys, Dlink, and Zoom). Besides Linux, Kismet also supports FreeBSD, OpenBSD and Mac OS X systems. Features Multiple packet capture sources, Runtime network sorting by AP MAC address (bssid), IP block detection via ARP and DHCP packet dissection, Cisco product detection via CDP, Ethereal and tcpdump compatible file logging, Airsnort-compatible "interesting" (cryptographically weak) logging, Secure SUID behavior, GPS devices and wireless devices fingerprinting. Kismet also includes a tool called gpsmap that can be used to create maps from logged GPS data. Full changelog here.

Changes: Major improvements and support fixes.

Asleap is a tool that exposes the weaknesses in Cisco's LEAP protocol. It can read live from any wireless interface, can monitor a single channel, perform channel hopping to look for target networks running LEAP, will actively deauthenticate users on LEAP networks so they will be forced to reauthenticate, and more.

hotspotter-0.3.tar.gz
Posted Apr 4, 2004
Authored by Max Moser, Joshua Wright | Site remote-exploit.org

Hotspotter is a utility that passively monitors the network for probe request frames to identify the preferred networks of Windows XP clients, and will compare it to a supplied list of common hotspot network names. If the probed network name matches a common hotspot name, Hotspotter will act as an access point to allow the client to authenticate and associate. Once associated, Hotspotter can be configured to run a command, possibly a script to kick off a DHCP daemon and other scanning against the new victim.

Authored by Florian Boor | Site prismstumbler.sourceforge.net

Prismstumbler is software which finds 802.11 (W-LAN) networks. It comes with an easy to use GTK2 frontend and is small enough to fit on a small portable system. It is designed to be a flexible tool to find as much information about wireless LAN installations as possible. Because of its client-server architecture the scanner engine may be used for different frontends.

Changes: Major and minor bug fixes.

void11 is a 802.11(b) wireless network penetration utility. It implements basic attacks like de-authentication flooding (network dos) and authentication flooding (access point dos). void11 automatically searches and attacks target networks, stations or access points configurable by simple match-list expressions. It is possible to deny all 802.11(b) wireless service in a range, because of it's "roaming" capability. void11 has been built on top of the Linux hostap daemon and provides a simple command-line interface and a clicky-bunty gtk+-2 interface.

Btscanner is a tool which extracts as much information as possible from a Bluetooth device without the requirement to pair. A detailed information screen extracts HCI and SDP information, and maintains an open connection to monitor the RSSI and link quality. btscanner is based on the BlueZ Bluetooth stack, which is included with recent Linux kernels, and the the BlueZ toolset. Using the information gathered from these sources it is possible to make educated guesses as to the host device type.

Wellenreiter-v1.9.tar.gz

Authored by Team Remote-exploit.org | Site wellenreiter.net

Wellenreiter is a GTK/Perl wireless network discovery and auditing tool. Its scanner window can be used to discover access-points, networks, and ad-hoc cards. It detects essid broadcasting or non-broadcasting networks and detects WEP capabilities and the manufacturer automatically. Dhcp and arp traffic will be decoded and displayed to give you further informations about the networks. A flexible sound event configuration lets it work in unattended. An ethereal / tcpdump-compatible dumpfile can be created. GPS is used to track the location of the discovered networks immediately. Automatic associating is possible with randomly generated MAC address. Wellenreiter runs also on low-resolution devices that can run GTK/Perl and Linux/BSD (such as iPaqs). An unique Essod-bruteforcer is now included too. prism2, Lucent, and Cisco based cards are supported.

Changes: Added the User guide in the docs directory, Raised the packet capture length from 400 to 65535, Added a patch for better detection of prism2 based PCI and usb cards.
