Nmap Port Scanner 7.60
Posted Aug 2, 2017
Authored by Fyodor | Site insecure.org

Nmap is a utility for port scanning large networks, although it works fine for single hosts. Sometimes you need speed, other times you may need stealth. In some cases, bypassing firewalls may be required. Not to mention the fact that you may want to scan different protocols (UDP, TCP, ICMP, etc.). Nmap supports Vanilla TCP connect() scanning, TCP SYN (half open) scanning, TCP FIN, Xmas, or NULL (stealth) scanning, TCP ftp proxy (bounce attack) scanning, SYN/FIN scanning using IP fragments (bypasses some packet filters), TCP ACK and Window scanning, UDP raw ICMP port unreachable scanning, ICMP scanning (ping-sweep), TCP Ping scanning, Direct (non portmapper) RPC scanning, Remote OS Identification by TCP/IP Fingerprinting, and Reverse-ident scanning. Nmap also supports a number of performance and reliability features such as dynamic delay time calculations, packet timeout and retransmission, parallel port scanning, detection of down hosts via parallel pings.

Changes: Updated the bundled Npcap from 0.91 to 0.93, fixing several issues with installation and compatibility with the Windows 10 Creators Update. NSE scripts now have complete SSH support via libssh2, including password brute-forcing and running remote commands, thanks to the combined efforts of three Summer of Code students. Added 14 NSE scripts from 6 authors, bringing the total up to 579! Various other updates.

Changes: Integrated all of the service/version detection fingerprints submitted from September to March (855 of them). The signature count went up 2.9% to 11,418. It now detects 1193 protocols from apachemq, bro, and clickhouse to jmon, slmp, and zookeeper. Added 14 NSE scripts from 12 authors, bringing the total up to 566! Various other updates.

This is a NSE script written for nmap that adds vulnerability scanning.

Changes: Added version identification support, which may improve the accuracy of findings as long as the linked vulnerability databases provide version information. Squashed a parsing bug if the server response did contain a special character. This caused the script to fail under some circumstances.
