The weakness is caused due to an error in the applications that have a "Web Role" deployed. This can be exploited to disclose certain state information from encrypted session cookies. Successful exploitation requires an application to be developed with ASP.NET and using the "Full IIS" feature. The weakness is reported in versions prior to 1.3.20121.1237.
