Input passed e.g. via the URL to modules/xnews/article.php (when "storyid" is set to a valid value) is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires that the "Use enhanced page navigator" option is set and that "storyid" is set to a news article making use of this functionality. This is related to: SA42349 The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.71RC. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Update to version 1.71 Final.
