The security issue is caused due to the "/usr/bin/banshee-1" and "/usr/bin/muinshee" scripts incorrectly setting the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH and GST_PLUGIN_PATH. This can be exploited to gain escalated privileges e.g. by tricking a user into running the script in a directory containing a malicious library. The security issue is reported in versions prior to 1.9.0. SOLUTION: Update to version 1.9.0. PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Reported by the vendor.
