The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in BarcodeWiz.dll when handling arguments passed to the "LoadProperties()" method. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via an overly long string passed as argument. Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code when a user visits a malicious website. The vulnerability is confirmed in version 3.29. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
