The vulnerability is caused due to an input sanitation error when e.g. downloading sponsor and community logos. This can be exploited to store malicious files in arbitrary directories on a client's computer via directory traversal attacks. Successful exploitation requires that the client is tricked into connecting to a malicious server. The vulnerability is reported in Battlefield 2 version 1.5.3153-802.0 and Battlefield 2142 version 1.10.48.0. SOLUTION: Connect to trusted servers only.
