Input passed to the regular expression search functionality is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site. Successful exploitation requires that the regular expression search functionality is enabled (disabled by default). The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.1.4. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Update to version 1.0.11 and 1.1.5. http://viewvc.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=6004 PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Secunia Research ORIGINAL ADVISORY: Secunia Research: http://secunia.com/secunia_research/2010-26/ ViewVC: http://viewvc.tigris.org/source/browse/viewvc/trunk/CHANGES?r1=2342&r2=2359&pathrev=2359 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help private users keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
