The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when processing specially crafted BSI files. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by e.g. tricking a user into opening a specially crafted BSI file containing an overly long "Skin" key in the "Options" section. The vulnerability is confirmed in version 2.51 build 1022 (Free Edition). Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Do not open untrusted BSI files.
