---------------------------------------------------------------------- Accurate Vulnerability Scanning No more false positives, no more false negatives http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: Zenoss Core SQL Injection and Cross-Site Request Forgery Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA38195 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/38195/ DESCRIPTION: Adam Baldwin has reported some vulnerabilities in Zenoss Core, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct SQL injection attacks and by malicious people to conduct cross-site request forgery attacks. 1) Input passed via the "severity", "state", "filter", "offset", and "count" parameters to /zport/dmd/Events/getJSONEventsInfo is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. 2) The application allows administrative users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the requests. This can be exploited to e.g. change administrator passwords or execute arbitrary shell commands by tricking an administrative user into visiting a malicious web site. The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 2.5. SOLUTION: Update to version 2.5 or later.
