-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 _______________________________________________________________________ Mandriva Linux Security Advisory MDVSA-2009:287 http://www.mandriva.com/security/ _______________________________________________________________________ Package : xpdf Date : October 22, 2009 Affected: 2009.0, Corporate 3.0, Corporate 4.0 _______________________________________________________________________ Problem Description: Multiple vulnerabilities has been found and corrected in xpdf: Integer overflow in the SplashBitmap::SplashBitmap function in Xpdf 3.x before 3.02pl4 and Poppler before 0.12.1 might allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted PDF document that triggers a heap-based buffer overflow. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information. NOTE: this issue reportedly exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2009-1188 (CVE-2009-3603). The Splash::drawImage function in Splash.cc in Xpdf 2.x and 3.x before 3.02pl4, and Poppler 0.x, as used in GPdf and kdegraphics KPDF, does not properly allocate memory, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted PDF document that triggers a NULL pointer dereference or a heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-2009-3604). Integer overflow in the PSOutputDev::doImageL1Sep function in Xpdf before 3.02pl4, and Poppler 0.x, as used in kdegraphics KPDF, might allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted PDF document that triggers a heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-2009-3606). Integer overflow in the ObjectStream::ObjectStream function in XRef.cc in Xpdf 3.x before 3.02pl4 and Poppler before 0.12.1, as used in GPdf, kdegraphics KPDF, CUPS pdftops, and teTeX, might allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted PDF document that triggers a heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-2009-3608). Integer overflow in the ImageStream::ImageStream function in Stream.cc in Xpdf before 3.02pl4 and Poppler before 0.12.1, as used in GPdf, kdegraphics KPDF, and CUPS pdftops, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted PDF document that triggers a NULL pointer dereference or buffer over-read (CVE-2009-3609). This update fixes these vulnerabilities. _______________________________________________________________________ References: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2009-3603 http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2009-3604 http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2009-3606 http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2009-3608 http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2009-3609 _______________________________________________________________________ Updated Packages: Mandriva Linux 2009.0: 47eb0172fd6a77a3594cc4f23b94af85 2009.0/i586/xpdf-3.02-12.2mdv2009.0.i586.rpm ed20d6e3acd27736270ec3a9dd77d713 2009.0/i586/xpdf-common-3.02-12.2mdv2009.0.i586.rpm cade148616e64b35b32d931971735407 2009.0/SRPMS/xpdf-3.02-12.2mdv2009.0.src.rpm Mandriva Linux 2009.0/X86_64: 35ec725957d882346bc6ffc8ab214cca 2009.0/x86_64/xpdf-3.02-12.2mdv2009.0.x86_64.rpm 1f0f050719112ac3fc7e79fd8baf496b 2009.0/x86_64/xpdf-common-3.02-12.2mdv2009.0.x86_64.rpm cade148616e64b35b32d931971735407 2009.0/SRPMS/xpdf-3.02-12.2mdv2009.0.src.rpm Corporate 3.0: d49ee3a8a5632ea9ec3bec9b193ff67f corporate/3.0/i586/xpdf-3.02-0.3.C30mdk.i586.rpm afff4b0b5222edb9bdcc4650e2bcd99e corporate/3.0/i586/xpdf-tools-3.02-0.3.C30mdk.i586.rpm b98475d9849f483f07184b479cfdf8dd corporate/3.0/SRPMS/xpdf-3.02-0.3.C30mdk.src.rpm Corporate 3.0/X86_64: 42408e29e788bdb5146a6b5a6e17d4c4 corporate/3.0/x86_64/xpdf-3.02-0.3.C30mdk.x86_64.rpm a0623eef0c142f74e7bb735302037909 corporate/3.0/x86_64/xpdf-tools-3.02-0.3.C30mdk.x86_64.rpm b98475d9849f483f07184b479cfdf8dd corporate/3.0/SRPMS/xpdf-3.02-0.3.C30mdk.src.rpm Corporate 4.0: 7f65c9f00a9b0165065a5bd2d008c736 corporate/4.0/i586/xpdf-3.02-0.3.20060mlcs4.i586.rpm 81a11b3a0a3ee0b0ce7bf3c4c3872404 corporate/4.0/i586/xpdf-tools-3.02-0.3.20060mlcs4.i586.rpm 65adb383acdbde29d2eb575dadcf275b corporate/4.0/SRPMS/xpdf-3.02-0.3.20060mlcs4.src.rpm Corporate 4.0/X86_64: 0c46899d5607ac8cd53086bb055a9a7d corporate/4.0/x86_64/xpdf-3.02-0.3.20060mlcs4.x86_64.rpm 2b9391620dc5f9da879a324df5c3ef8e corporate/4.0/x86_64/xpdf-tools-3.02-0.3.20060mlcs4.x86_64.rpm 65adb383acdbde29d2eb575dadcf275b corporate/4.0/SRPMS/xpdf-3.02-0.3.20060mlcs4.src.rpm _______________________________________________________________________ To upgrade automatically use MandrivaUpdate or urpmi.
