The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error in the logfile parsing function in SonicOS. This can be exploited to cause a crash and potentially execute arbitrary code e.g. via a specially crafted string containing format string specifiers in a query to a restricted domain, in the XAUTH username when establishing a GroupVPN tunnel, or in the username via the login page of the web frontend.
