The vulnerability is caused due to a NULL pointer dereference error in the "spnego_gss_accept_sec_context()" function in "src/lib/gssapi/spnego/spnego_mech.c". This can be exploited to e.g. crash the daemon by sending a "NegTokenInit" token with specially crafted ContextFlags. The vulnerability is reported in version 1.6.3. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Fixed in the SVN repository. http://src.mit.edu/fisheye/browse/krb5/trunk/src/lib/gssapi/spnego/spnego_mech.c?r1=21875&r2=22084 PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Richard Evans ORIGINAL ADVISORY: http://krbdev.mit.edu/rt/Ticket/Display.html?user=guest&pass=guest&id=6402 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help everybody keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
