The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the "aspath_prepend()" function in usr.sbin/bgpd/rde_attr.c when prepending its own AS to a long AS path. This can be exploited to crash the process by advertising long AS paths. The vulnerability is reported in OpenBSD 4.3 and 4.4. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Apply patches.
