The security issues are caused due to the "bin/scilink", "util/scidoc", and "util/scidem" scripts using temporary files in an insecure manner. This can be exploited to e.g. overwrite arbitrary files via symlink attacks. The security issues are reported in version 4.1.2. Other versions may also be affected.
