The security issue is caused due to the BIOS keyboard buffer not being properly flushed when pre-boot authentication is used and can be exploited to disclose the used password. Successful exploitation requires that BitLocker is configured to use a TPM chip. The security issue is reported in Microsoft BitLocker included Windows Vista without Service Pack 1. SOLUTION: The security issue is reportedly fixed in Windows Vista Service Pack 1.
