The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing the "flask_op" hypercall. This can be exploited by DomU users to cause a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code with Dom0 privileges. Successful exploitation requires that Xen is compiled with support for the "XSM:FLASK" module. The vulnerability is reported in version 3.3. Other versions may also be affected.
