Input passed to e.g. the "Description" field when creating a "News Item" is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which is then executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when displaying LiveSearch results. The vulnerability is confirmed in version 3.0.3. Prior versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Update to version 3.0.4. http://plone.org/products/plone/releases/3.0.4 PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: ilmila ORIGINAL ADVISORY: http://dev.plone.org/plone/ticket/7439 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help everybody keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
