The vulnerability is caused due to an integer overflow within the "ffs_mountfs()" function. This can be exploited to crash the kernel or possibly execute arbitrary code by mounting a specially crafted UFS image. The vulnerability is reported in FreeBSD 6.1. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Allow only trusted users to mount UFS images.
